I agree with last week’s correspondent regarding bonus points – we don’t need them in rugby. Could you ever imagine the Premier League introducing bonus points for scoring four goals? Or for losing by fewer than two? Not in a million years.
The fact that a team could score lots of tries but lose every game and still finish higher than a team who win half their matches is crazy.
Games of rugby do not need lots of tries to be enthralling.
