Northampton Saints to play in World Club 7s

Northampton Saints will play at for the second time in three months as they are the ninth team to be confirmed for the inaugural World Club 7s to take place at Twickenham on August 17-18.
The Rugby runners-up will join a stellar cast of teams from around the world including Harlequins, Auckland and the Brumbies.
“Rugby is a rapidly developing sport, and in the run-up to the its profile is going to get higher and higher,” said Director of Rugby, Jim Mallinder.
“The World Club Sevens is going to be an exciting tournament to be a part of. We will be up against some top teams from across the globe, and it is going to be a good challenge for our players.
“It is obviously too early to be specific in terms of the squad we will be sending to Twickenham, but we have plenty of players who have international Sevens experience, like Lee Dickson, Ben Foden and Vasily Artemyev, and we will be looking to be competitive.”
On top of today’s announcement, Premiership rugby also confirmed the presence of giants the Blue Bulls and a second Russian side in Kuban Krasnodar.
This brings the number of teams involved to 11 with the twelfth side will be the winner of the J.P.Morgan Premiership , which will be decided on Friday, August 9.
The teams confirmed for the World Club 7s are ACT , Auckland, Buenos Aires, Blue Bulls, , Kuban Krasnodar, Los Angeles, Moscow, New York, Northampton Saints, Western Province.
