Gloucester’s European campaign came to an abrupt end last night with a 41-31 defeat to Biarritz in the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals at Kingsholm.
Mike Tindall went over for the opening try but the French side scored three tries while Gloucester where down to fourteen men after yellow cards to Dario Chistolini and Koree Briton to take the game away in the first half.
They went on to score five tries in total while Shane Monahan and Huia Edmonds scored two consolation tries late in the game.
The Basques will now travel to either London Wasps or Leinster for the semi-finals as they look to retain their trophy and earn an automatic Heineken Cup qualification.
