Do you fancy yourself as a Fantasy Rugby expert? Well, here is your chance to prove it as The Rugby Paper launches the TRP Fantasy Rugby Competition for the 2024/25 Season.
What is so special about this fantasy competition? Well, you don't pick players in this competition, you pick teams, and you gain points based on the results your chosen teams accumulate. This competition will only run for League games.

TRP Fantasy Rugby will start collecting points from the start of the 2024/25 Rugby season on Saturday September 7, 2024 and the entry deadline will be Monday September 30, 2024. It will feature a total of eight leagues. There will be Seven Manger of the Month prizes with the first one being October 2024 and the final one will be April 2025. There will be cash prizes for the top three at the end of the season and we will have my personal favourite a prize for finishing bottom, so why not enter two teams one to win it and one to lose it.
Because entry into TRP Fantasy Rugby 2024/25 is being opened up from the beginning of August 2024 an Early Entry Bonus of 500pts is being awarded to everyone of you who is brave enough to enter the TRP Fantasy Rugby 2024/25 before the season begins. The deadline for the Early Entry Bonus will be midnight on Friday 6th September 2024.
The Rules for TRP Fantasy Rugby 2024/25:
Please read these very carefully.
1. TEAM SELECTION
You will need to choose 3 teams from each of the eight leagues which will give you a total of 24 teams. So, your entry for TRP Fantasy Rugby 2024/25 Season must have 24 teams on it. After you have chosen your 24 teams, I need you to choose 5 of your 24 teams to be your Joker teams which will gain you double points. The way to show your 5 jokers on the entry form is to place a J instead of a tick.
The eight featured leagues are
– Gallagher Premiership
– National One
– National Two North
– National Two East
– National Two West
– Allianz Premiership Women's Rugby
Also, if you wish you can pick 5 substitute teams, but these 5 teams must be on your TRP Fantasy Rugby 2024/25 Entry Form. More on the substitutes later on in this season's rules.
2. POINTS ALLOCATION, IN ALL EIGHT LEAGUES
– Home Win = 10pts
– Away Win = 20pts
– Home Draw = 2pts
– Away Draw = 4pts
– Home Defeat = -10pts
– Away Defeat = -5pts
– Every point scored = 1pt (this counts if your team wins, draws or loses)
– Every point conceded = -1pt (win and defeat only)
– Bonus Points = 10pts (this is awarded if your team scores 25pts or more)
– Further 5pts for every 10pts more your team scores beyond the 25pt threshold. So, if your team scores 35pts it would qualify for 15 bonus points.
LEAGUE LEADERS & BOTTOM CLUB BONUS
At the end of each month up to and including April 2025 the top team leading each of the 8 leagues will be awarded 25pts. The bottom team of the 8 leagues will be awarded -25pts. Please remember and this is important these bonus points will only count towards the main TRP Fantasy Rugby season total and not the Manager of the Month points.
MANAGER OF THE MONTH BONUS POINTS
Each month the top performing team for each individual month in each of the 8 leagues will be awarded 25pts. The bottom worst performing team each month will receive -25pts. These bonus points only count in the Manager of the Month calculations.
3. USE OF SUBSTITUTIONS
As stated above you can select five substitutes on your TRP Fantasy Rugby 2024/25 Entry Form and out of those five substitutes you can use up to three. There will be only one substitution window and that will be during the month of January 2025 with your selected changes taking effect from 1st February 2025. Details on how to use your substitutions will be released nearer the time.
END OF SEASON BONUS POINTS:
These points will be awarded at the end of the TRP Fantasy Rugby Season.
– All League Champions 200pts for winning their respective leagues.
– The bottom team only in each league at the end of the season's TRP Fantasy Rugby will be awarded -200 bonus points.
Please Note: The above End of Season bonuses will only be awarded if you picked the qualifying teams at the start of the competition on your original entry form. If you have brought any of the teams in as a substitution you will be awarded half the points at the end of the season.
