Tom Wood has been suspended for six weeks for the stamp on Djibril Camara’s last Friday Champions Cup Play-off final against Stade Francais Paris at Franklin’s Gardens.
The Northampton flanker had been sent off by referee John Lacey on the 63rd mniute of the game which Saints went on to win to book their place in next season’s Champions Cup.
He was up for a 12-week ban but taking into account his guilty plea, expression of remorse and good disciplinary record, the EPCR independent Committee reduced the sanction by the maximum of 50 per cent before imposing a six-week suspension.
