Favaro to leave Glasgow but new deals for centres

Italian international Simone Favaro revealed that he will leave at the end of the season in what he described as an imposed decision.
The 28-year-old has been with the Scottish side for the past two seasons and was named as the club’s player of the season last campaign.
With 33 tests to his name the flanker was unavailable for ‘s clash with due to injury but could return against on Saturday.
However it appears Favaro will not be offered a new contract and he revealed how upset he was with the decision on his Twitter account.
“It was an imposed decision, and I really thank you (Glasgow) for everything,” he wrote on Twitter.
“We loved each other and I’ll always respect all of you.”
Head Coach will leave Glasgow to take charge of at the end of the season with New Zealander Dave Rennie coming in to replace him.
Glasgow confirmed that they had extended the contracts of centres Sam Johnson and Nick Grigg.
Australia-born Johnson arrived from the in 2015 and has gone on to play 21 times for the Warriors and will remain with the club until May 2019.
Grigg, born in New Zealand, has represented Scotland at 7’s and was called up to train with the Scotland squad ahead of the 2016 internationals, he has signed a one-year deal until May 2018.
Johnson said:  “I’m loving my time at the club and I’m happy to continue my development in Glasgow for two more years.
“I definitely wanted to stay and Dave Rennie was a major factor.”
Grigg said: “I’m pretty excited to see what the future holds for me for the rest of this season and next season and I’m stoked to get an extended deal from the club.
Townsend added: “Sam (Johnson) and Nick (Grigg) have played a good amount of this season and have done really well when they’ve been given the opportunity.
“They are familiar playing with each other, having done so at Stirling last year and for the Warriors this season.
“They work really hard and are keen to learn and it is great that they’ve both committed their futures to the club.”
