Worcester tighthead Biyi Alo has signed a permanent contract to remain at the club after joining from Saracens as injury dispensation cover for the 2016/17 season.
The 22-year-old has made nine appearances for the Warriors so far this season after spending nearly six years in the Saracens set-up.
Alo was previously part of the England Under 20 squad which claimed the World Junior Championship crown in 2014 after victory over South Africa in Auckland.
The talented forward combined playing for Loughborough University alongside studying for a degree in Sports Science, Sport Development and Sport Management before joining Saracens on a full-time basis, while he also enjoyed spells with Old Albanians and Bedford Blues.
Alo said: “I’ve quickly warmed to life at Worcester where I’ve got everything I need to progress as a player.
“The lads have been great and now I’m looking forward to playing my part in trying to help this team get up the Premiership table.”
Head Coach Carl Hogg added: “Biyi arrived at Sixways as cover but quickly established himself within the squad.
“He has taken his opportunities within the European Challenge Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup and that in turn has seen him rewarded with Premiership selection which is a testament to the work ethic that Biyi has shown.
“He is a fine scrummager and gives us front-foot ball with his big, powerful frame and we’re looking forward to seeing more of him on the field in the near future.”
