England head coach Eddie Jones has denied calling Steffong Armitage to ask him to come back to the Premiership as it was claimed by Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal on Monday.
The outspoken Boudjellal revealed Armitage had requested to leave the Franch giants this summer to return to England and reignite his England career on the advice of Jones.
But speaking from Brighton where England started their three-day training camp ahead of their clash against Wales, Jones rubbished such claims saying: “You’ve got to remember that the bloke who made the comments sells comic books and had made plenty of money out of them.
“Batman and Robin won’t be in the [our] team. [No contact] that I know of. People have false Facebook [identities] so I suppose you can have a false phone call. It has got nothing to do with me. Steffon is not eligible to play for England.”
