Saracens have bolstered their second row option for next season with the signing Bedford Blues lock Mark Flanagan on a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old, who has been a key part of the Blues‘ pack, will join alongside new signings Schalk Burger, Alex Lozowski and Save Rawaca.
An Ireland international at U18, U19 and U20 levels, Flanagan – who is also English Qualified – emerged at senior level with Leinster, making a total of nine appearances, before heading to Mont-de-Marson in France.
He said: “Joining Saracens is fantastic opportunity for me. Sarries have a proven track record of developing players and I can’t wait to get started next season.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Bedford Blues and I’m grateful for the support they have shown me but I’m really looking forward to be joining such a fantastic club.”
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: “We have been watching Mark for some time and he has proved himself one of the most impressive lock forwards in the Championship.
