Sale Sharks have announced that wing Nev Edwards has signed a new two-year deal at the club.
The flyer, who is playing in his maiden Premiership season, is currently the Sharks’ leading try scorer with eight tries in all competition.
Edwards, who initially joined on trial ahead of the Premiership Sevens, came through the academy at London Irish but he made his name as an amateur at Rosslyn Park and Bedford Blues.
Sale boss Steve Diamond said: “Nev joined us pre-season and worked hard on his fitness. He has taken his opportunity well. He has improved in every game he has played and has set the league alight this season..
“He’s a fantastic example of somebody who asks for an opportunity, gets an opportunity and takes it with both hands I’m really delighted he’s signed and he can settle up here now properly”
Edwards added: “I am delighted to have signed a new deal. I would like to thank Dimes and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity and for keeping faith in me.”
