Henry Trinder signs new contract with Gloucester

Henry Trinder has agreed a new deal to remain with Gloucester beyond the end of the current season.
Closing in on a century of appearances for the club, the 26-year-old has made four appearances this season, scoring twice in Big Game 8 against Harlequins at Twickenham at the end of December.
News of Trinder’s new deal comes as a welcome boost as he nears a return to fitness following a hamstring injury.
The centre made his Gloucester debut in February 2008 as a replacement against Sale Sharks, before making his first start against London Irish in January 2009.
Trinder has represented his country at U20 and Saxons level, and played for England in a non-cap international against the Barbarians.
He said: “This is my club, and I am thrilled to have put pen to paper on a new deal. It’s no secret the injuries I’ve suffered have been frustrating, but it only makes me more determined to succeed in a Cherry and White shirt.
“When I returned to action against Zebre back in November, the reception I received will live long in my memory, and the support I’ve had from everyone has been awesome.
“The medical staff have put in a lot of time with me, I now want to repay them with some good performances on the pitch, and be involved again with this exciting group of players at the club and be part of what we’re working towards.”
Director of Rugby David Humphreys added: “Henry’s attitude during my time at the club has been second to none, and his determination to return to fitness has been admirable. I know that some of the players in a similar position have taken a lot of inspiration from Henry’s approach to his rehab.
“Henry is a truly exciting player whose talents I was well aware of, even before I arrived at Kingsholm, and I’m delighted that he will be a part of our squad going forward.
“We are building a lot of depth within our squad, and Henry is another key cog in our backline as we develop our game and another key re-signing ahead of next season.”
