As revealed by Neil Fissler in The Rugby Paper on January 10, Wasps have signed Tommy Taylor from Sale Sharks for next season.
The 24-year-old hooker made his debut for Sharks in 2011 and went on to make 93 appearances for the club.
His impressive performance for the Sharks were rewarded with international recognition in England‘s summer games against the Barbarians in 2014 and 2015.
He said: “I’m really pleased to have signed a contract with Wasps and I’m really excited by the prospect of linking up with them ahead of the 2016/17 season. I’ve been hugely impressed by Wasps over the past couple of seasons and I’m looking forward to working with Dai and his coaching team.
“I have loved my time at Sale Sharks, leaving your hometown Club is always a hard decision and I would like to thank all the fans, players and coaches, in particular Steve Diamond who showed faith in me from the start, for all their support. My focus now is on Sale Sharks and finishing this season as strongly as possible.”
Wasps’ Director of Rugby Dai Young said, “We’re really pleased to be able to add Tommy to the squad for next season. He is a really exciting English prospect who has impressed in the Aviva Premiership and in Europe this season with his dynamic physicality.
