Rhys Gill has been banned for three weeks following his red card in Saracens‘ first defeat of the season at Harlequins last week.
The Wales prop was first showed a yellow card for a dangerous tackle on Harlequins centre George Lowe but after seeing the replay on the big screen referee Craig Maxwell-Keys changed his mind and branded a red card.
But while Gill, who also received a £500 fine, won’t be able to play until February 2, James Horwill and Dave Ward have both been cleared of striking and biting an opponent respectively.
Horwill was sent to the bin for his early swinging arm to the head of George Kruis which left the England lock knocked out. Ward had been cited for allegedly biting Saracens flanker Jackson Wray.
