Matthew Rees has been suspended for seven weeks following his stamping on the head of Nick Easter.
The incident occurred in the Cardiff Blues‘ Challenge Cup clash against Harlequins and Rees will not play again in 2015 as the ban he received today runs until January 11, 2016.
The hooker pleaded guilty and although the judiciary officer selected a 12-week ban as and entry point it was then reduced to seven taking into account Rees’s timely expression of remorse to Easter and his clean disciplinary record.
