James Simpson-Daniel to officially become a Gloucester Legend

James Simpson-Daniel is widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest talents to grace ‘s Kingsholm turf and that will be confirmed on Saturday when joins the ranks of former greats in the Legend’s Lounge.
Sinbad, as he is affectionately known, spent his entire career at Gloucester spanning 14 seasons for 272 competitive appearances for the Cherry and Whites scoring 118 tries in the process.
However, due to untimely injury and illness, his career was restricted to just ten caps.
He will attend Saturday’s game against Falcons with his family, and his commemorative plaque, featuring one of the lucky socks that he wore throughout his career, will be unveiled.
Gloucester CEO Stephen Vaughan said: “When you speak to supporters and former players and ask them about who would make their greatest ever Gloucester XV, there aren’t many players who would be a near unanimous choice. However, James Simpson-Daniel is one of those players.
“It’s fair to say that we never see his like again on a rugby pitch, he truly was a unique talent and his position as a Legend in the long and proud history of Gloucester Rugby is assured.”
