Ashley Johnson has been suspended for three weeks following a Disciplinary Hearing in Dublin today.
The flanker was found guilty of making a dangerouss tackle on Dave Kearney in Wasps clash against Leinster in the Champions Cup.
The incident happened in the opening play of the game as Johnson chased the kick-off and tackled Kearney in the air.
He was shown a yellow card by referee Jerome Garces while the Irish wing had to leave the field with a shoulder injury.
In upholding the citing complaint, the Judicial Officer determined that the offence was reckless and warranted a red card as well as a mid-range six weeks ban.
But due to the player’s guilty plea, remorse, good conduct during the hearing and clean disciplinary record, the sanction was reduced to three weeks and Johnson is now free to play again from February 16.
