Newcastle Falcons have lost their unbeaten record in the Challenge Cup after they went down 31-24 to Stade Francais in Paris last night.
Tries from Krisnan Inu, Paul Williams, Djibril Camara and Remi Bonfils, along with a penalty try, earned the French side the bonus-point win.
Juan Pablo Socino, Simon Hammersley and Mark Wilson scored the Falcons’ three tries while the boot of Rory Clegg ensured they picked what could prove a crucial losing bonus-point.
They remain top of Pool 3, until tonight at least, with the Dragons, who only sit four points behind, taking on Bucharest at Rodney Parade.
The Welsh should go top to set up a winner-takes-all clash against Newcastle when the two meet at Kingston Park in the next round on January 16.
