Sam Burgess to make debut on Friday?

Sam Burgess could be making his union debut for on Friday night as they take on .
Head coach Mike Ford revealed he was thinking of naming the rugby league superstar on the bench a few weeks ahead of schedule.
Burgess suffered a broken cheekbone during the NRL Grand with South Rabbitohs on October 5 and had to have metal plates inserted in his face but he has already recovered and Ford is waiting on Burgess to tell him when he feels ready to get stuck in.
Ford also revealed that Bath are likely to test him at centre and off the bench for a few games and see how Burgess gets on.
“I have no worries about throwing him in either against Quins or next week,” said Ford. “But it’s Sam who’s got to do it so he’ll tell us when. No doubt Sam will get a few things wrong, but he’ll get a lot of things right.
“The plan is to play him a couple of times off the bench as a 12, then the next couple of games bring him on at six – and just see how he develops. We might as well bite the bullet and put him in, that’s my thought process.”
