Stuart Lancaster confirmed George Ford will remain at fly-half for England‘s final autumn Test against Australia on Saturday at Twickenham.
The Bath playmaker made his first Test start last week in the 28-9 victory over Samoa and the England head coach was pleased enough with what he saw to give him another chance against the Wallabies.
He partnered Owen Farrell in a 10-12 axis last seen at the 2011 Junior World Cup but Lancaster hinted Farrell’s position could be under threat after Gloucester‘s Billy Twelvetrees impressed off the bench against the Pacific Islanders.
“George has earned the right to start again. He’s played well enough for that,” Lancaster said. “Billy Twelvetrees impressed me from the bench. He did well and brought good energy to the team.
“He’s worked hard on the feedback we gave him when he came back into camp and he’s a genuine prospect for us at 12.”
