Edinburgh today announced that Fraser McKenzie has returned to the club where he began his professional career.
The lock who had a spell at Sale, joins from Newcastle where he made 14 appearance last season.
He said: “I jumped at the chance to come back to Edinburgh Rugby and I’m looking forward to laying down a marker.
“The club seem to be on an upward trend and I’m looking forward to returning to my home-town club and to be back living in Dunfermline.
“I really believe everything happens for a reason and I think the time is right for me to come back.”
Head coach Alan Solomons said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring Fraser back home to Edinburgh and believe he’ll really add value to the squad.
“He’s a big, abrasive player who will fit in well to our system.”
