As revealed in The Rugby Paper on Sunday, Worcester will kick off their Greene King IPA Championship campaign at Bristol.
The Warriors will travel to Bristol’s new home Ashton Gate Stadium on the weekend of September 6.
At the other end of the table, Doncaster will make their return to the Championship with a home tie against Plymouth Albion, following promotion from National League 1.
The other opening fixtures will see play-off hopefuls London Scottish take on last year’s semi-finalists Rotherham while their Yorkshire neighbours Leeds Carnegie will travel to the Cornish Pirates.
Finally, Notthingham will take on Bedford and Moseley will host Jersey.
The opening double-header weekend has been dropped after only one year in place but this will allow the return the fan-favourite Championship XV fixture.
The selection will face Canada on Sunday, November 2.
RFU Professional Rugby Director Rob Andrew said: “We’ve worked very closely with the Championship clubs to produce a fixture calendar that reflects the growing demands of the professional league, specifically bringing the season end forward to allow for a longer rest and planning period between campaigns.
“The British & Irish Cup has also been brought forward, with the competition now finishing in early April to allow for less congestion during the Championship play-offs.”
Chairman of the Championship Clubs Committee Geoff Irvine added: “We’re delighted to be bringing the Championship XV game back into the league season.
“As highlighted by the sell-out Maori All Blacks fixture at Castle Park, these games offer a great appeal for Championship supporters and players. To have a group of players come together who would otherwise be playing against each other is a unique experience, and to do that against an International touring side is very special. I hope supporters from across the Championship clubs will support the game in November and come cheer on our boys.”
