Newcastle sign Worcester back row Semesi Taulava

Newcastle Falcons have landed Semesi Taulava from on a two-year deal.
The 31-year-old is the second new signing to be announced in the build-up to next season after Leeds Carnegie lock Calum Green agreed to make the switch to the North East earlier this week.
The Tongan No.8, who stands at 6’5” and weighs in at over 20st, has made nine appearances for the Warriors this campaign.
“I’m really looking forward to my move to Falcons and I’m excited at the prospect of playing under Dean Richards,” he said.
“I like the philosophy of the Falcons and when I spoke to Dean I was impressed with the club’s plans for the future.”
“There is a good mixture of both youth and experience in the squad, and I hope that my experience can complement those talented youngsters coming through.”
“Semesi is a quality addition to the back-row, and he gives us considerable power upfront,” added director of Dean Richards.
“He is another great signing as we strengthen our squad ahead of next season.”
