England full-back Mike Brown has been voted by fans as England‘s best player of the Autumn International series.
The 28 year-old started all of England’s three tests playing the full 80 minutes against Australia and New Zealand while being replaced in the 75th minute against Argentina.
Brown rose above Tom Wood, Courtney Lawes and Dylan Hartley to clinch the award and has perhaps made the No.15 shirt his own with three strong displays in as many weeks.
His best was his man-of-the-match performance against Australia where he outplayed opposite number Israel Folau making 125 metres and beating eight defenders.
In what was a landslide win Brown ended with 75% of the vote.
Brown said: “This is a special award as it is nominated by the supporters of England rugby and I am very grateful to everyone who voted. The support at Twickenham is always amazing and this award has capped a brilliant month for me and the team.
“A number of quality players could have won this award and the success we have had in this year’s QBE Internationals is firmly down to the efforts of the whole squad and I am just pleased to have played my role to help this England team to victory against Australia and Argentina, and also to push the No.1 team in the world all the way.”
