Richard Cockerill and Leicester have been dealt yet another injury blow with no less than three centres joining the long list of players unavailable.
Dan Bowden and Matt Smith were both concussed against Harlequins last Saturday but Kiwi Terrence Hepetema suffered a fractured eye socket and will be out of action for approximately six weeks.
With Manu Tuilagi and Anthony Allen also injured, the Tigers reserves of midfielders are running low ahead of their LV=Cup opening clash against Ospreys on Friday.
Cockerill said: “The injury curse keeps coming back to get us but we have to keep doing what we are doing. The side for Friday will be a youthful one, with three or four senior guys in there who need game time.
“We’ve had multiple injuries and not one has come at training. They have all happened in games, and that is purely down to bad luck.
“But for that many injuries to hit us in midfield, you have to keep smiling otherwise you’d cry.”
