Ben Mowen to skipper Australia

No.8 Ben Mowen will skipper the against England at on Saturday taking over from James Horwill.
Head coach Ewen McKenzie’s decision comes after a tough year for the Reds skipper but he still starts at lock with the order to rediscover his form and bring his “A-game”.
At the other end of the scale, fly-half Quade Cooper has been rewarded for his attitude over the past 12 months to be named vice-captain.
Elsewhere, Nick Cummins recovered from a broken hand to start on the wing while Scott Fardy returns at after a spell on the sideline with an eye injury.
McKenzie said: “I just want James to concentrate on his football. I know what he’s capable of and the team needs him at his best.
“He’s had a couple of setbacks (this year)… he hasn’t had a smooth run. So at this stage I want him to be the hard-working abrasive second-rower I know he can be. We need his A game.”
“Decisions like these are never easy, but sometimes you need to make hard choices for the long-term benefit of the individual. A strong individual performance will be the best contribution he can make to this game.
“Everyone has acknowledged Quade has made massive strides in the last 12 months and this is another step toward recognition he does make a lot of decisions on the field.
“I think Quade has demonstrated the totality of being a team member, and that’s been a significant change.”
