Bath confirmed today that the incident that invalid Gavin Henson and Carl Fears in a pub last Wednesday was now closed following a “thorough internal investigation”
Last Wednesday, flanker Carl Fearns punched new recruit Gavin Henson in the face leaving the former Welsh international knocked out on the floor.
In Fearns’ case, the RFU also intervened as he was a member of the England Saxons squad last season and he is due to meet with staff to discuss his future conduct.
A statement from the clud read: “The players involved in last week’s incident in the city centre have been dealt with via the Club’s disciplinary process.”
Bath CEO Nick Blofeld commented: “The behaviour of some of the players was totally unacceptable and not what we expect from them.
“The two players involved have taken full responsibility for their actions and they have both received written warnings and fines, and we regard the case as now closed.
“We want to see the squad focused on pre-season training, the forthcoming 7’s and friendlies, and then delivering on the pitch this season.”
On behalf of the playing squad Stuart Hooper added: “We would like to apologise as a group. Clearly what happened last week was inappropriate and there is a collective will amongst the players to put that right and not set such a poor example again.”
