London Welsh’s fate deferred

will have to wait to know their fate after their hearing decision was deferred tonight.
The Exiles appeared in front of a competition hearing tonight to face charges they fielded an illegible player, Tyson Keats, for a number of matches this season.
The player arrived at Old Deer Park this summer and reports suggest he played in as many as nine games under the wrong registration.
However, as reported by Nick Cain on Sunday, the club was confident Keats was eligible to play.
A RFU statement read: “THE DECISION of an RFU Competition Hearing into charges that London Welsh fielded an ineligible player, Tyson Keats, in a number of matches this season, has been deferred.
“The panel of Jeremy Summers (chairman), Mark McCafferty and Peter Budge will now consider their decision which will be communicated in due course.”

Does anyone know what penalty Leicester Tigers were given for fielding Tuilagi when he was effectively an illegal immigrant – having stayed on for six years on a six month holiday visa? There’s no information online which makes me think that perhaps they weren’t fined at all?
