Two-week ban for Bath’s Ollie Devoto and Scarlets’ Samson Lee

Ollie Devoto has been hit by a two-week ban for punching Bordeaux-Bègles winger Blair Connor last Saturday in the opening round of the Amlin .

The pleaded guilty to the offence to see his ban reduced from four to two weeks but he will still miss Bath home clash against the -Gwent as well as the West Country derby against in the on October 25.

From the same game, Bordeaux-Begles lock Adam Jaulhac received a one-week ban for punching Francois Louw.

Meanwhile,  prop Samson Lee has been handed a two-week ban after being found guilty of stamping on last Saturday.

The incident occurred in the Scarlets’ win at The Stoop in the opening round of the Heineken Cup and although, the Judicial Officer determined Lee was “going for the ball” at the time, he will miss the clash against Racing Metro this week as well as the trip to in the Pro12.

Lee’s boot made contact with Care’s face in a “reckless manner” and the Judicial Officer even suggested he should have been sent off for it.

He decided to hit Lee with an entry level two-week suspension but as the former Wales international pleaded not guilty “no mitigation was possible”.

In other disciplinary news,  Lifeimi Mafi has been banned for six weeks for his spear tackle on Gloucester’s Ryan Mills on Saturday night.

The Perpignan centre, who pleaded not guilty, will not be able to play until December 8 while Clermont win Napoleoni Nalaga is free to play after the Judicial Officer ruled the yellow card he received for striking Racing Metro wing Marc Andreu with his knee during the game was sufficient.
