1. Cold callers
Just lately loads of people have knocked at our door trying to sell stuff or get you to sign up for a charity. They always seem to call between 7-8, when it’s the kids’ bedtime, which is really annoying. I’m not normally one to fob people off straight away, even when I’ve got no intention of taking them up on whatever it is their trying to sell, so I ended up wasting half-an-hour of my life listening to their patter.
TRP verdict: We can’t knock you for this, you’re in.
2. Bad gym etiquette
Sometimes I like to go to the gym with my mates to do extras on top of what we do during the week at Castle Park. It’s largely a social thing but at least we actually use the equipment. I get fed up waiting for people who seem to spend more time standing around doing very little rather than lifting weights or running on the treadmill.
TRP verdict: It’s clearly a (bench) pressing matter for you but I’m sorry, It’s a no from us.
3. Conversation killers
The art of conversation is definitely dying in my experience. It does my head in a bit when you’re talking to a mate and they’re clearly preoccupied by what’s happening on their phone screen. They’re either slow to reply … ‘I’ve just got to finish this level’, or you get blanked totally. You’d think it was the younger lads who’d be most culpable but I have to say that Colin Quigley is the worst offender in the Donny squad. He’s massively into his poker and is on his phone 24-7.
TRP verdict: Deal or no deal? It’s a yes from us.
