1. Weather moaners
This summer’s interchangeable weather has brought out all the people who moan about the weather in their droves. The very same people who’d been moaning about it being unseasonably cold and wet wasted no time in complaining about the searing heat we briefly enjoyed last week. Honestly, there is no pleasing these people.
TRP verdict: We welcome suggestions like these come rain or shine.
2. Poor passenger etiquette
I frequently commute by train to training, university and work and it’s a regular occurrence to see someone taking up two seats instead of one which I think is just plain ignorant and rude. They either sit at the window seat and put their bag on the spare seat in an attempt to put off people from sitting next to them or they sit in the aisle seat and therefore make it awkward for you to access the other seat. It’s made even worse when they make out like they’re doing you a big favour if you ask them to move one seat across or to store their bag where it should be.
TRP verdict: Pull up a chair and take a seat in Room 101.
3. Renaming sports stadiums
The other day I read that York City’s ground at Bootham Crescent was once called the KitKat Stadium, under a stadium naming rights deal. How ridiculous is that! I can understand why companies put their name on a team’s kit but not stadiums. For me that’s selling sports history. At the end of the day Newcastle‘s ground will never be remembered as The Sports Direct Arena in years to come, it will always be St James’ Park – unless they move, of course.
TRP verdict: The KitKat Stadium … that really is taking the biscuit!
