Room 101: Nigel Mukarati – Stourbridge back-rower

Nigel Mukarati1. Hotel check in/out times
I don’t see why hotels don’t allow you to check in until 2/3pm and then ask you to leave by 10/11am the next morning. In my opinion you should get at least 24 hours if you’ve paid to stay in a hotel. After all, it only takes an hour tops to clean a room. Half the day is over by the time you can actually get in and dump you bags off. As for the morning after the night before, it’s no fun rushing to get up, eat breakfast and then pack your bags.
TRP verdict: Thanks for (travel) lodging your complaint. I’m pleased to say you’ve successfully booked a place in , and you can stay as long as you like.
2. Singing acts on Britain’s Got Talent
The Voice and X-Factor are the place for singing acts, we don’t need them on Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) too. It’s disappointing that four of the last nine winners of BGT are singers. BGT should solely be the preserve of random slapstick acts that are designed purely for Saturday night entertainment. Take a bow Stavros Flatley.
TRP verdict: You’ve hit just the right note again.
3. National League play-offs
The National League season is one hard slog as it is without adding an extra game on at the end of it. As things stand, the runners-up in Two North play the runners-up in Two South for the right to join the champions at a higher level. I’d much rather see the runner-up with the best record over the season be promoted straight away. Also, I don’t think I’ll ever forget the heartache of our play-off defeat to a few years ago when we conceded a try under the posts deep into stoppage time and their -half kicked the match-winning conversion.
TRP verdict: Play-offs are here to stay I’m afraid.
