1. Sky sports news/talksport
Both media outlets are obsessed with football, 80 per cent of their output is focused entirely on the Premier League when they could be talking about so much more. When I drive into work at 6.30am they’ll be discussing Jose Mourinho and Chelsea and they’ll still be banging on about the same thing eight hours later when I get in my car to make the return journey home. They seem to pick one daily topic and do it to death which gets very boring.
TRP verdict: Exclusive! Sky Sports News ‘sources’ say you’re in Room 101.
2. ‘Toppers’
By this I mean people who can always top your story, because they have been somewhere better or claim to have done something better than you. For example, if you say you’ve been to Tenerife on holiday they’ll say they’ve been to 11-erife! I think ‘Toppers’ is a bit of a Welsh phrase but the boys at Esher seem to have adopted it – especially when Andy Garner starts boasting about what he’s been up to!
TRP verdict: We’re garner let you get this one in, too.
3. Hockey
I’m a sports coach at Feltonfleet Prep School in Surrey and hockey is definitely my least favourite sport. I never played it myself and personally I don’t see the point in the game. It seems to stop every two seconds or so because the ball’s hit someone’s foot. I don’t see the fun in that at all. Most of the kids don’t understand what is going on and swing their stick like they’re on the golf course.
TRP verdict: We agree. Hockey deserves a bit of stick.
