1. Caravans
My dislike of caravans is two-fold. First, they cause chaos on the roads in the summer when they overturn or get a flat tyre, and second they are horrible to live in – as I’ve found out to my cost over the last three to four months while my home is being renovated. Hopefully our joiner will get things finished  soon and I won’t have to put up with it for much longer.
TRP verdict:  Happy to tow the line on this one, you’re in.
2. Religion
Religion seems to cause all the stress in the world and if it didn’t exist, in whatever shape or form, then the world would probably be a lot more peaceful place. All you hear on the news nowadays is conflict between different faiths and the terrible toll that it is having on so many lives. Every dispute normally comes back to religion.
TRP verdict:  We’ll refer this one to a higher being.
3. VAT
I’ve got a transport company and a beauty salon business that are both VAT registered. Doing the bookkeeping for them is the bane of my life. It is supposed to be beneficial for a company to be VAT registered but I’ve yet to see how that’s the case. I also run a children’s care home business (they say variety is the spice of life, after all!) that isn’t VAT registered and that’s far easier to run. I definitely think they should scrap VAT.
TRP verdict:  After a taxing decision we’ve decided to let VAT go into Room 101.
