1. Fake Lance Armstrongs
I think it’s great that people want to get fit and go out on their bikes, especially on the back of how well we did at the Olympics. What I cannot stand is groups of middle age blokes spending thousands of pounds to dress up in bondage-style Lycra, riding side-by-side and blocking the road to then walk around coffee shops telling everyone how they have cycled 1.3 miles to get there and got their heart rate up to 100. No-one wants to see such horrific shapes when eating breakfast and no-one cares. It’s a major problem in Bath.
TRP verdict: And just to think it’s only going to get worse for you with the Yorkshire-based Grand Départ coinciding with your return up north. You’re in.
2. Animal Cruelty
I’ve always had pets from a young age and currently own two bull terriers. I think it is barbaric that people still use them to fight for sport. The sentences are not severe enough and I think it should be a lot harder for people to buy pets to make sure that they will be well looked after. Some of the stories that you hear about in terms of animal cruelty are awful.
TRP verdict: You’re definitely barking up the right tree. You’re in again.
3. Penalties and conversions
With the quality of goal kicking as it is now a penalty anywhere in the opposition half will usually result in a shot at goal. This is not what people want to see. Either award more points for a try or fewer for a penalty: two points between a try and a penalty is not enough. To make it more fun I think the try scorer should be the guy taking the conversion. It would be hilarious to see some of the forwards having a go, although, to be fair, Matt Garvey is a decent kicker. He used to play football in goal at a decent level and also looks like a giant Wayne Rooney which I think helps. I enjoy seeing a drop goal as there is a fair bit of skill involved in that, certainly more than a penalty, but again I think three points is too much.
TRP verdict: You’re not a Rugby League player yet Biggsy! You’re out.
