Dream Team: Richard Baxter – Exeter Chiefs legend

Richard Baxter1. Andrew Sheridan – I played with him with England U21s and he was very strong in the but also a great ball carrier. So powerful!
2. Steve Thompson – Another big strong man and very good footballer. It was much nicer to play with him rather than against him.
3. Julian White – Very good scrummager and a very tough player. He was always uncompromising when on the pitch. A local lad too.
4. Jamie Cudmore – Another hard working strong guy who is very tough. The big Canadian did so well in the Clermont engine room for so many years.
5. Rob Baxter – I’ve played well over 200 games with my brother so I have to stick him in there. He taught me a lot. He’s very intelligent and he wouldn’t like it if I didn’t pick him to be fair.
6. Lawrence Dallaglio – Incredibly passionate man who will drive the team forward. Given what he’s achieved he kind of picks himself really.
7. Gary Willis – I played a lot of with Gary at the over the years. Had we been in the at the time he played he could have definitely stepped up.
8. Zinzan Brooke –Very much a guy I looked up to. He was the world’s best No.8 and he led the way on how the position should be played in the modern game. Lucky to have faced him when he was at Quins.
9. Byron Kelleher – I played against him once when U21s toured England. He went on to be an All Black the year after. What an incredible player he was.
10. Jonny Wilkinson – I played against him when he was at and he was the best No.10 in the world for a number of years. Best thing about him was how good a person he was.
11. Ben Cohen – Another from the England U21s team I played for and he went on to have a fantastic career with Northampton and England.
12. Sireli Naqelevuki – If he’d have come to earlier in his career we’d have been even better. He was outstanding and made a huge impact on the field. Another good guy.
13. Mike Tindall – Very strong guy who worked really hard. He did a lot of the unseen work for club and country for a long time.
14. Va’aiga Tuigamala – I played against him when he was at Newcastle. I picked a big back line so it’s no surprise I pick him. A huge player for the All Blacks with a lot of power.
15. The way he’s developed his game for both and England has been outstanding. On his day he’s one of the best full-backs in the world.
