Dream Team: Nick Royle- Caldy and former Fylde, Sale & England 7s wing

Nick Royle1. Eifion Lewis-Roberts – ‘Fridge’ is a massive man. I’ll never forget that pre-season match in Perpignan with him flying across to smash their wing into touch on the last play.
2. Jonny Roddam – We played at and together and he was a very hard guy who was brilliant throwing at the lineout.
3. Kieran Brookes – He came through the ranks at Fylde and played a few first team games before moving on. He was already impressive back then even if he thought he was a good ball handler.
4. Paul Arnold – A good runner who always gets through the gain line. Head coach at Fylde but he’s always in the squad because he gets to pick himself.
5. Dean Schofield – Someone all the young lads at Sale used to look up to and he’d always take you under his wing. A good guy.
6. Mark Stephenson – He looks nothing but he gets around the filed and he always ends the game battered. Used to play League for the great St Helens side back in the days.
7. Nyle Davidson – My Caldy teammate is a nose at the breakdown. An awesome player who I fully expect to at least play in the Championship sooner rather than later.
8. Carl Fearns – We came though at Sale together and he’s doing really well in now. A big lad who’s a very good, strong ball carrier.
9. Richard Wigglesworth – He doesn’t get to start as much as or Ben Youngs for but he’s just as good and probably a better passer. Awesome kicker too.
10. Richard Kenyon – The best fly-half in when I was at Fylde. A really clever player who played over 300 games for the club.
11. Ollie Phillips – We didn’t know each other when we played against each other and he was at but I got to know him with . Strong and very quick.
12. Luke McAlister – I spent my time at Sale on his shoulder because he’d always break the line and look for support. Very quick feet and would have had a much longer All Blacks career if he’d stayed in New Zealand.
13. Tevita Vaikona – A Rugby League star who ended up playing at and he was massive. He’d run through people for fun coming off the bench in the last 20 minutes of a game.
14. Nick Royle – I’ve done alright in my time. Very proud on my National Two North try scoring record. Hopefully I can #feedthespeed and add to it before I retire in a year or two.
15. Jason Robinson – He’d left Sale when I came through but we then played together at Fylde and that was awesome. The best cross-code player of all time.
