Dream Team: Drew Locke – Jersey and former Gloucester and Cornish Pirates centre

Drew Locke1. Sam Lockwood – Up and coming loosehead who was named in the Team of the season a few weeks back. I’m sure he will get picked up by a club very soon. Very hard on the pitch but a gentleman off it.
2. Dave Ward – His darts are a bit dodgy but he’s brilliant over the ball to get turnovers. He’s very strong too, despite his small frame.
3. Alan Paver – A stalwart at the Cornish Pirates. Really little block but he’s hard as nails. Punches well above his weight.
4. Tom Savage – The most professional bloke I’ve ever seen on and off the pitch. Truly committed to every challenge and definitely one to watch for the future.
5. Will James – He’s retired now but he was known as the squad father when I was at Gloucester. Huge presence on the pitch and when he talked you listened.
6. Sam Betty – ‘Mad Dog Betty’ always throws his body through a brick wall. Finally got a few tries this season for too. Loves his surfing.
7. Jack Lam – The and openside is the most physical guy I’ve ever played against. He’s world class and great over the ball at the breakdown.
8. Blair Cowan – Very hard working. He enjoyed a lot of success over the past couple of seasons and he deserves all of it. Had a very good Six Nations for . Also a pretty good surfer.
9. Dan Robson – One of the best -half in . Dan’s got a great kicking game and he also has very quick feet. He’ll do well in the future.
10. Jonny Bentley – My Jersey teammate is the best fly-half I’ve played with. Great brain and very good at attacking the line in possession. And his defence is top notch.
11. James Simpson-Daniel – A true Gloucester legend. One of the best players of his generation who should have played a lot more for England.
12. Billy Twelvetrees – Good ball-playing centre and dogged in defence. Has a massive boot on him too.
13. Henry Trinder – One of the best talents in English rugby. He’s strong and very quick. Such a shame he’s had so many injuries.
14. Miles Benjamin – He’s like a running back. He’s quick, powerful and always seems to stay on his feet. He can bounce off tackles with his fend.
15. Rob Cook – Safe as houses under the high ball and deceptively quick. Used to have a dodgy kicking style but unfortunately he’s changed it since working with Jon Callard recently. Such a shame!
