The Red Roses’ 2022 Women’s Six Nations home fixtures will be played at Kingsholm and Welford Road with tickets now on sale.
In their third round match, Simon Middleton’s side host Wales at Gloucester‘s Kingsholm Stadium (Saturday 9 April, KO 1645 BST), which was also the host venue for the 2021 Allianz Premier 15s final. This will be the Red Roses’ first-ever match at Kingsholm.
The Red Roses then welcome Ireland to Welford Road (Sunday 24 April, KO 1200 BST). England Women’s only previous match at the East Midlands venue was a Home Nations Championship fixture against Wales in 1996.
In their opener, title holders England travel to DAM Health Stadium, Edinburgh where they face Scotland (Saturday 26 March, KO 1200 GMT) before taking on Italy at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, Parma (Sunday 3 April, KO 1500 BST).
England’s final game of the tournament sees them travel to France for what is set to be another enthralling encounter with Les Bleues on ‘Super Saturday’ (Stade Jean Dauger, Bayonne, Saturday 30 April, KO 1415 BST).
Tickets for the two home fixtures are on sale and can be purchased here.

England head coach Middleton said: “The history of Leicester Tigers as a club says everything about English rugby union for me. I’m delighted we have a fixture at Welford Road. The crowd have consistently turned up in massive numbers to support Leicester. They are a hugely knowledgeable and appreciative crowd. It’ll be a great venue to go to. It’s a real bastion of rugby. It’ll also be one of the largest home grounds we’ve played at outside of Twickenham and it would be amazing to get a big crowd.
“Kingsholm offers itself to both English and Welsh supporters. It’s a great venue full stop. The atmosphere at the Allianz Premier 15s final there earlier this year was tremendous. It’s another hotbed with a passionate and vociferous crowd. It’ll be fantastic to get another game into another one of England’s great rugby stadiums and cities.
“We have plenty of connections within our player and staff group to both clubs and areas and we’re all looking forward to next spring.
“In a more general sense, Six Nations showed great innovation last year and have recognised the benefit of a stand-alone Women’s Six Nations. Getting the tournament on in 2021 was massive and they deserve to be applauded. It worked really well. As a traditionalist, I do love the fact we’ve returned to the regular format and the schedule of games this year means we should hopefully see competitive games from start to finish.”
Gloucester Rugby chief executive Lance Bradley said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Red Roses at Kingsholm during the 2022 Six Nations.
“Kingsholm is renowned for creating one of the best atmospheres in World Rugby, and we know that our supporters will be hugely excited to welcome the England team to Gloucester.
“The Women’s game is growing exponentially, and after hosting the Allianz Premier 15s final earlier this year, we are determined to continue to play our part in that growth.
“We are very proud of our Gloucester-Hartpury side who continue to develop year on year, and we look forward to seeing several of our players representing both England and Wales in the clash at Kingsholm.”
Leicester Tigers chief executive Andrea Pinchen said: “We are delighted to be able to host the Red Roses at our iconic home at Welford Road later this season.
“Tigers have a very passionate and substantial supporter base and we know they will give the England team a very big welcome.
“The club has a programme to promote women’s and girls’ rugby throughout our region and hosting this international fixture allows us to provide a showcase of the elite game for our community.”
