Newcastle Falcons vs Saracens – Match Preview

By Peter Ryan – @PeterRyanSports

In a rare treat for Gallagher Premiership fans, there will be two games on Friday. While Harlequins take on Bristol Bears, Saracens will travel to Newcastle.

It will be an interesting contest, with Saracens looking to move further up the table.

This promises to be a fascinating match-up in the north of the country, with Saracens aiming for a dominant display that will make for exciting betting options.

Saracens

There was a lot of intrigue surrounding Saracens as some key names left the side.

It is safe to say the juggernaut hasn’t missed a step, as they have put on some great displays, notably achieving a commanding win over Harlequins in the cup and blitzing London Scottish, scoring 99 points in the process.

Regarding league performances, they currently sit fourth in the table but will aspire to claim the top spot.

Their best performance in the league to date was the hard-fought 37-35 victory against Bristol Bears.

There are many exciting players in the Saracens team. Fergus Burke has filled Owen Farrell’s boots quite nicely and is a level-headed operator in the fly-half position.

Elliot Daly is an excellent asset to any team due to his experience and long-range kicking ability.

Tobias Elliott, a young, exciting winger, has many people talking about his ability to get over the white line. He looks to be one for the future and a player everyone should keep an eye on.

The Saracens will look to get off to a good start after the autumn break by asserting their dominance against the Falcons.

Newcastle Falcons

Newcastle will always be behind the eight-ball compared to their competitors because they lack the funding to make a significant impact in the Gallagher Premiership.

Steve Diamond’s squad has only managed to secure a single win in the league this year after a resilient performance against the Exeter Chiefs.

However, the Falcons have lost heavily to teams like Sale and Gloucester.

They will take confidence from their wins against Doncaster and Caldy in the cup, but Saracens represent an entirely different challenge.

They will need players like Ben Stevenson, Callum Chick, and Bret Connon to step up in a big way if they are to pull off a monumental upset.

The Falcons will have to be at their best to come even close to Saracens, but they will look to shock the world in front of their home crowd.

The Bets

There is always room to exploit a few good betting opportunities in a game like this.

The best bet is for Saracens to win by more than 12 points; based on form and the squads on paper, Saracens should take a comfortable victory.

There is value in betting on the away side to win by an even greater margin, as there is potential for a decent return if they win by more than 15 points.

For those seeking a significant return, betting on Saracens to win by more than 18 points is worth considering. With their quality, they could secure a convincing victory.

Best bet: Saracens to win by more than 12 points – 10/11
Value bet: Saracens to win by more than 15 points – 13/10
Long shot bet: Saracens to win by more than 18 points – 12/5
