Quade Cooper gets Queensland Reds exit after icy relationship with Brad Thorn

Quade Cooper has spoken out against his treatment at the after sealing a move to the Melbourne Rebels for the 2019 season.

“I have got sympathy for him because he loves the place as I do. We were there a long, long time, from tough times to building to success and winning the competition,” Genia told the Morning Herald.
“There’s obviously always that emotional attachment but I think the best thing for him is to get back to playing at this level, just because he has so much to offer.

“If he can do that and find some consistency in his performance, I think he’ll find some solace in that rather than playing for Souths [in the Brisbane competition]. As much as he would have enjoyed it, he deserves to be at this level and probably owes it to himself as well.”

The Reds and Rebels underachieved in their 2018 Super Rugby campaigns, finishing 13th and ninth respectively.
