Tom Court has been called up by the British & Irish Lions as injury cover for Alex Corbisiero.
The England prop had to be replaced early in yesterday’s 23-21 win over the Wallabies with a calf injury and Ulster and Ireland Court has been drafted in to face the Rebels tomorrow.
Court, who was in Brisbane following Ireland’s tour of North America in recent weeks, has been named on the bench in place of Mako Vunipola who is now expected to start the second Test in Melbourne on Saturday.
As well as monitoring Corbisiero’s injury, the Lions management are also sweating on the fitness of 2009 captain Paul O’Connell who suffered a hand injury yesterday.
However, the Lions were boosted by the announcement that centres Manu Tuilagi and Jamie Roberts are in line to make their return alongside Tommy Bowe who seemed to have recovered from a broken hand.
