MERTHYR edged out Bedwas to claim an important victory in the east section of the Principality Premiership at the Bridgefield. The Ironmen made a strong start and took the lead in just the sixth minute courtesy of a penalty try.
Full-back Matthew Jarvis then showed his impressive kicking ability with a well-taken penalty to edge the champions further ahead.
He added another shortly before the break to give the Ironman a strong 13-0 halftime lead.
