WITH reference to Nick Cain’s column (Sept 29) on Premiership finances, it just goes to show that our game at the highest level is living very dangerously.
The demise of Worcester, Wasps, London Irish and Jersey was due to two things. A lack of due diligence from the RFU and the long lasting effects of Covid. The club with the smallest debt is Exeter at around £15 million. If that isn’t bad enough what must the debt level be at the other end? £50, £60, £70 million? Financial institutions will only wait so long before they want their money back. Sadly ...
