Time to add Japan and Fiji to Rugby Championship

THE endless mistreatment of Fiji as a second rate rugby nation is another disastrous admin blunder in the sport’s professional era.
As Chris Hewett stated in last week’s Rugby Paper, Fiji has been “deliberately marginalised despite their gift for lighting up the sport”.
In 2017, TRP’s chief writer Nick Cain wrote: “World Rugby’s ludicrous three-year residency rule is to blame for turning international rugby into a mercenary free-for-all.”
