With all the talk about the RFUs treatment of the Championship there never seems to be any real analysis of the strength of these clubs – off and on the field.
Last Saturday’s six opening League games drew a measly 7,256 spectators – so an average of just over 1,200.
I live close to one of the more successful teams in the League – attendances rarely breaches 1,000 and the squad seems to churn (50 per cent) every season so resulting in no spectator attachment to players.
