AS a long-standing player and supporter of local rugby I feel like tearing my hair out when I see or hear about what is being done worldwide and at our own headquarters. They mess about with the laws as if they have no idea what goes on in different aspects of the game.
One of the most dangerous areas is in and around rucks. Players join illegally and dangerously, others “stand guard” in an offside position and then time after time players are taken out when they are nowhere near the ruck. Rucks also slow the game down so why do the powers that be allow this to continue?...
