A STRONG contender for the 2024 Quote of the Year award should be The Rugby Paper columnist Chris Hewett for his witty verdict on the memorable final rounds of the Six Nations tour nament stating:
“England ripped up their plan to win rugby matches without actually playing any rugby.”
His brilliantly written column (March 24) offered a classic example of why TRP writers provide the most insightful coverage of the game’s many problems with PR platitudes misguidedly declaring that “player welfare” is the main priority.
