Too many forward passes are not being picked up

SIX games already played in this year’s Six Nations, and in the first five games the winning teams have benefited by a try from a forward pass. Four of those games were won because of the forward passes not being picked up.
We are told they are using a “smart ball”, but if the ball can tell us the speed and length of the pass, surely it can tell if the pass was forward?
And at the end of the Scotland/France game, does the ball know when it reaches the ground? Probably not! To me it looked like it did, but without synchronicity of the referee’s whistle, and...
