I HAD the great pleasure of playing along side Barry John, in a testimonial football match for Roger Thorndale at Cheltenham Town in the seventies.
I only played in the second half at centre forward. After 10 minutes I suggested to the rest of the lads that we gave Barry a ball of his own, as once he got it he never passed to anyone. Then the rest of us could continue to play with the match ball!
