JEREMY Guscott was absolutely correct in his article when calling for a reduction in the number of replacements.
While returning to replacements for injury only may be a step too far, reducing the size of the bench to five and allowing just two tactical substitutions during a game would assist in opening up space as players tire.
I would allow up to five injury replacements but, to avoid gaming of the system, with the caveat that anyone substituted because...
